The Mental Benefits of Weight Training
A student at California University of Pennsylvania, Conor Errey is studying wellness and fitness. Enrolled as an online student, he is able to maintain a flexible schedule and enjoys weight training in his free time. Conor Errey has been weight training for over six years and has become familiar with several training styles and their distinct benefits.
The physical benefits of weight training are already well-known, but there are also several mental benefits that are not often talked about. Regularly weight training has positive effects on several mental health problems. Moderately intense training sessions may help healthy adults lower their anxiety levels.
Depression is also affected by weight training; the latter is thought to reduce depression symptoms among adults who have been diagnosed and can be helpful to college students and healthy adults in managing difficult moments in their lives.
Improved mental health is not the only benefit of weight training. Memory, problem solving, and information processing all receive a boost from exercising. Weight training, specifically, has the biggest benefit on memory tasks. Further, both self-esteem and determination are improved.
The nature of weight training requires athletes to push themselves. Over time, this practice helps them develop a strong ability to focus and high level of determination. In terms of self-esteem, weight training involves working towards a specific measurement of progress. Repeatedly meeting these goals often increases self-esteem.

The Protein-Rich Japanese Sumo Stew is Great for Weight Lifters
Residing in Canonsburg, Pennsylvania, Conor Errey is an experienced video producer and former top sales associate at KoSports Hockey. Pursuing a career in fitness, Conor Errey has been consistently weight training for the last six years. Always conscious of his health and wellness, he enjoys cooking protein-rich dishes like slow-roasted beef stews and grilled chicken.
One protein-rich delicious dish is the Sumo Stew with shrimp, Udon noodles, bok choy, and meatballs. Chanko-nabe is a traditional hearty dish that sumo wrestlers use to bulk up, but it can also provide warmth and energy in the winter months.
The Epicurious version of chanko-nabe involves sauteing mushrooms, ginger, garlic, and miso paste, and then adding in chicken broth. Add a dash of salt and soy sauce, let the soup simmer for 10 minutes, then throw in some chicken meatballs and carrots. After stirring in the bok choy and rice vinegar, place white fish on top of the stew and fold in shrimp. For extra protein, serve half hard-boiled eggs and Udon noodles with it.

Bill Nye as a Spokesperson for Evolution and Science
A former player for the amateur ice hockey team Pittsburgh Predators, Conor Errey is a current student at California University of Pennsylvania studying wellness and fitness. Conor Errey also is fascinated with the science of how the world works and lists Bill Nye's "Undeniable" as his favorite book.
Bill Nye initially entered public consciousness as the host of an educational show on PBS that ran from 1993 to 1998. Throughout the years, he transitioned to become a resource for science in numerous television programs and in universities and colleges across the country. In 2014, he once again came into the public eye when he engaged creationist Ken Ham in a public debate, arguing on behalf of the theory of evolution.
As a result of the debate, Bill Nye wrote a book titled "Undeniable: Evolution and the Science of Creation," which discusses evolution in the context of many things – from bumblebees to humanity's significance within the cosmos. The book was intended for adult readers who are interested in learning more about science and how the world around them works. Writing in the first person, Nye attempted to explain the fundamental concepts of earthly life using evolution.

A former collegiate hockey player and a sales associate at Ko Sports Hockey in Canondale, PA, Conor Errey aims to enter the field of wellness and fitness after graduating from California University of Pennsylvania. Conor Errey complements his studies by engaging in community service with such organizations as the Pittsburgh Penguins.
Around the halfway point of the 2015-2016 National Hockey League (NHL) regular season, the Pittsburgh Penguins paused from competition in the Metropolitan Division of the National Hockey League Eastern Conference to carry on an annual tradition. A few members of the team assembled in late January to surprise several local youths, who received the opportunity to meet a few of their favorite professional hockey players.
The Make-A-Wish Foundation, the Children’s Home of Pittsburgh, and the Children’s Institute collaborated and nominated 14 candidates for the 29th annual Children’s Practice at UPMC Lemiuex Sports Complex. Evgeni Malkin, Marc-Andre Fleury, and Olli Maatta were among the teammates who spent time with the children, signing posters and jerseys for them.
