Pittsburgh Penguins Surprise Local Youth at Practice and Party
A former collegiate hockey player and a sales associate at Ko Sports Hockey in Canondale, PA, Conor Errey aims to enter the field of wellness and fitness after graduating from California University of Pennsylvania. Conor Errey complements his studies by engaging in community service with such organizations as the Pittsburgh Penguins.
Around the halfway point of the 2015-2016 National Hockey League (NHL) regular season, the Pittsburgh Penguins paused from competition in the Metropolitan Division of the National Hockey League Eastern Conference to carry on an annual tradition. A few members of the team assembled in late January to surprise several local youths, who received the opportunity to meet a few of their favorite professional hockey players.
The Make-A-Wish Foundation, the Children’s Home of Pittsburgh, and the Children’s Institute collaborated and nominated 14 candidates for the 29th annual Children’s Practice at UPMC Lemiuex Sports Complex. Evgeni Malkin, Marc-Andre Fleury, and Olli Maatta were among the teammates who spent time with the children, signing posters and jerseys for them.
